Small and Convenient Development Board with USB-C

Dahlia is a compact carrier board providing easy access to the most common features of the Verdin family. A very convenient platform for software development and demonstration purposes, the board is compatible with all current and future Verdin SoMs.

You can simply power the Dahlia via a USB-C connector (USB Power Delivery capable). Alternatively, the board can also be powered via a Barrel connector (5V-27V DC).

Built-in UART to USB transceivers allow you to monitor and communicate with UART interfaces via USB in a convenient manner, without any additional Serial port adapters.

Torizon, the easy-to-use industrial Linux platform, offers tight integration with development tools such as Visual Studio Code to further simplify software development. JTAG is also available via USB thanks to the integrated FTDI JTAG to USB Adapter. Alternatively, you can use the standard pin header with your JTAG Probe. As Toradex provides production-ready software, the JTAG is typically not required. However, if you’d like to have a closer look or perform some advanced programming on the integrated Cortex-M microcontrollers of the i.MX 8M and TI AM62x series of applications processors, it’s nice to have the option.

Several display adapter boards will be available to support HDMI, LVDS, DSI and Parallel RGB display interfaces (a Verdin DSI to HDMI Adapter is included with Dahlia carrier boards).

The complete design documentation - including validated PDF schematics, Altium project files (schematics, layout and IPC-7351 compliant component libraries), Bill of Materials (BOMs) - is freely available for download from our developer website. The project files are a good starting point for your own design.
